MAXIS BROADBAND SUCK

Hey people, sorry for not updating my blog for the pass month.I have been very very busy with work. Anyways, its now August and my birthday is coming and i'm hoping this month will be better than the previous months . However, its only day 5 of the month of August and 2 incidents have managed to rattle my nerves.

Scene 1

Location: PC Fair, KLCC - ATM machine



In the usual hustle and bustle of people as in every PC fair* (for my readers who are not from around here, refer to the footnote) , a long queue at teh atm machine is no surprise, it is expected actually; where everyone is rushing to withdraw money to splurge on so long awaited technical gadget.



Anyways, there was this couple ( Chinese looking people, not sure if they're local or not) at the ATM withdrawing cash,they were taking quite a while but hey no worries! maybe they have a whole lot of money to withdraw plus, i really needed to go take a leak so my gf continued to queue for me. After 10 minutes, the chinese couple were still there trying out one card after another. Being the concerned fella that i was, i peered at the screen to find out what in the world was taking so long, from what i can see,the red letter on the screen read "ACCOUNT INVALID",and so.. they tried again.. and again... with different cards too for variation. And the the best part is... they were actually trying each and every selection ONE BY ONE when they were needed to choose a selection of services on the screen... at that time, they have been hogging the machine for a total of 15 minutes!!!!!!!



If don't understand English, chose the Chinese language option!

If can't understand how to chose the Chinese language option ASK!!! (there were a bunch of chinese gals behind them who where loudly conversing in mandarin)


Me , again being the concerned citizen that i was , shouted from the back " OOOiii Faster la... you think you the only one using the ATM issit. " needless to say, my selfless act brought them back to realise that they weren't the only one who was in need of the atm.


Needless to say, my selfless act brought them back to reality that they werent the only ones who is in need of the ATM and quickly sped things up and at last they able to withdraw and faster faster walk away..



* PC fair is a trice yearly event in Malaysia where you are able to obtain the best bargains for technical goods, where prices are slashed to almost half its original price.. if you're lucky ;)
I managed to geta laser printer for RM 199 (original price RM 399)



Scene 2
Location: Office- Phonecall with Maxis Helpline 1800-82-2000

Called up Maxis broadband, Gf's internet is not working. As i remember I have paid for the month and my billimg is up to date with no outstanding balance. An Indian lady picked up my call.

Maxis : Welcome to Maxis braodband my name is yadda yadda yadda ( I cant remember) how can i help you *note that her tone was not a question, but a statement

Me : Yea.. my line is not working. can you help me check?

Maxis: *sigh* ( I'm not sure what's that suppose to mean but personally that's rude) what is the account number?

Me: XXXXXXXXXX

Maxis: Sir please hold while I check

Me: Ok

Maxis: Sir i found that your line was barred.


Me: I already paid through maybank2u

Maxis: *sigh * ... when did you pay? i need all the information


Me: Ok I'll give you the reference number "XXXX"

Maxis: Sir may i speak to the account holder, we need the account holder to unbar the line. i will put you on hold sir, let me check.

Me: ok *music playing in the backgroud*

Maxis: ok i sent this case to 11 floor to unbar, but first i need to validate your details.

Me: ok

Maxis: What is your name?

Me: Jerry Lee

Maxis: What is your IC number?

Maxis: Can i have your address please?

Me: BLAH...BLAH...BLAH... ( This is the last question before she get to my nerves)

Maxis: May i know what is the relationship between you and the account holder

Me: That is my gf. BY THE WAY, WHY DO YOU NEED TO ASK THIS KIND OF QUESTION. I DON'T SEE HOW is it necessary TO UNBAR A LINE. I am ASKING YOU TO UNBAR THE LINE and NOT to TERMINATE A LINE. I PAYING YOU THE MONEY FOR GOD's SAKE.

Maxis: Sorry sir this is procedure

Me: WHAT KIND OF STUPID PROCEDURE Tis this??. WE are PAYING FOR a LOUSY internet SERVICE AND EVEN THE HELPdesk distresses me more than it helps me. IT SHOULD BE CALLed HELPLESS DESK instead!

What ever it is, GET THE LINE BACK UP IN 2 HOURS IF NOT I WILL ESCALATE THIS MATTER TO the HIGHER MANAGEMENT.

"Click" (Hang up)


After a few hours, we tried again and finally it worked!!

Try to choose Celcom broadband or Izzi.... :)

IZZI lagi teruk,. Celcom doesn't support Mac.

please do not used Izzi...name only izzi but will make ur life a living hell.... AS Ooolala said yes celcom dont support mac.

think we still have to depend on Tmnet even they suck big time too

LOLZ! Great stuff Jerry! Oh by the way, there is a new broadband service center (I cant remember the name) Ben tested it and said its good. Maybe you can check with him first :)

hey dude, dun worry be happy, i am an iZZi user for awhile (a year old now)....pretty happy with it, it could be that your area does not have coverage, mine was great.... the uptime was 99.8%

Speed wise : normal la, but u still can download at 100kB

As for your conversation with the helpdesk, indeed it is frustration but it's still part of their job ... :)
