Proposal to prosecute non-Muslims for khalwat

KUALA LUMPUR: A seminar on Syariah Law review wants non-Muslims found committing khalwat (close proximity) with Muslims to also be held liable.

This was among the proposals made at the two-day seminar organised by the Islamic Institute of Understanding Malaysia (Ikim) and the Syariah Judiciary Department Malaysia.

Syariah Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Mohd Asri Abdullah said the seminar had proposed that non-Muslims committing khalwat with Muslims should also be sentenced accordingly, but in the civil courts.

“We don’t have the jurisdiction to sentence non-Muslims committing khalwat with Muslims,” he told reporters after closing the seminar on behalf of department director-general Datuk Ibrahim Lembut at Ikim here today.

“The Muslims can be sentenced in Syariah courts, and the non-Muslim partners can probably be sentenced in the civil courts, to be fair to both parties.”

He said the proposal, contained in a draft resolution at the seminar, would be forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

“It is up to the Attorney-General’s Chambers or the relevant authorities to decide how to create such a law,” he said.

However, he declined to elaborate when the proposal would be forwarded to the Government.

Another proposal is to impose heftier penalties – of up to four times the current penalties – on Muslims caught for khalwat, prostitution, consuming alcohol and involvement in gambling activities.

Mohd Asri said Ikim and the department were proposing that the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Amendment) 1984 be amended to impose stiffer penalties of RM1,000 fine, or five years’ jail or 12 strokes of the rotan for Syariah Lower Courts and RM20,000 fine, or 10 years’ jail or 24 strokes of rotan for Syariah High Courts.

Current limits are a maximum of three years’ jail, or RM5,000 fine, or up to six lashes or any combination of these, and different states provide different penalties for these offences.

“This has not been reviewed since 1984. It has been more than 20 years,” said Mohd Asri.

There was also a proposal for Syariah judges to enforce whipping for these offences.

Another proposal calls for the establishment of a rehabilitation centre for those convicted of offences related to morals and faith such as prostitution and effeminate men, and enforcement of Section 54 of the Syariah Criminal Offences Act (Act 559) to set up such centres.

The seminar also agreed to a suggestion that a new provision be created for apostates.

Cam kes lain, Suami tak beri nafkah untuk anak dan bekas isteri. Cam mana ?? focus dalam hal hal nie lagi baik.

Tidak perlu sekat laman blog

KUALA LUMPUR 2 April - Kerajaan tidak harus mengenakan sekatan ke atas blog tetapi perlu bersikap terbuka terhadap laman tersebut, kata Pensyarah Jabatan Media Universiti Malaya, Dr. Abu Hassan Hasbullah.

Beliau berkata, ini kerana satu gelombang besar politik mungkin akan berlaku sekiranya sekatan dikenakan ke atas laman-laman blog yang wujud pada masa ini.

''Kemunculan blog ini merupakan satu perubahan budaya baru dalam bidang media yang berlaku di seluruh dunia yang tidak dapat dielak.

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad must shoulder some of the blame for Barisan Nasional's worst-ever performance in the recent general election, says former Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin.

Dr Mahathir’s various accusations swayed the people to vote against Barisan, he said.

“Laying all blame on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for Barisan’s losses is not right because it is clear that Dr Mahathir is full of anger and uncontrolled vengeance,” said Zainuddin.

“Maybe he was not aware or maybe he purposely did not want to be aware that his credibility as a former leader is still strong and that his influence on the grassroots, both Malay and non-Malays, is significant.”

( Yes thats true, But if the current gov didnt screw up, and listen to rakyat .. they will still have rakyat heart no matter the former leader is strong or not. By the way, he just said what he think BN should do to serve the rakyat better. )

“His credibility influenced people into believing what he said and he also lent this credibility to bloggers and websites,” he said when met at his house here yesterday.

Zainuddin said there were three statements in particular that affected Umno’s and Malaysians’ confidence in the leadership in the run-up to the elections.

“The first was when he said he regretted appointing Abdullah as the Prime Minister.

“This was then followed up by Dr Mahathir saying that Abdullah was only meant to be a one-term Prime Minister and that more opposition was needed in Parliament.”

Zainuddin added that the third and most damning statement that was widely accepted by all segments of society was about the role Deputy Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and his advisers played in the country’s politics and economy.

“This even caused Gerakan adviser Tan Sri Lim Keng Yaik to ask Abdullah to get rid of his advisers,” he said.

Zainuddin said he was merely telling the truth when he said thatDr Mahathir could not deny he had played a role in Barisan’s dismal poll results.

“This is not to say that other factors do not count, but Dr Mahathir cannot absolve himself from this.

“There have been many opinions in the aftermath of the election but Dr Mahathir being a factor was not really mentioned, “ he added.

Cinemas allowed "with condition"

I came across this article in the star today. Kinda caught my eye cause it said
KELANTAN CINEMAS ALLOWED "WITH CONDITION"

This kinda amuse me cause they only will allow movies with strong moral values. I been wondering since this morning after i read this article.
1 ) Is this their way to stop criminal ( Rape, rob, Kill and ETC )

KOTA BARU: After the last cinema was closed down in 1995, the state government is now willing to consider allowing them or cineplexes.

However, only movies with strong moral values could be screened.

State Finance Planning Committee chairman Datuk Husam Musa told a press conference yesterday that the state government would welcome investors keen to set up cinemas or cineplexes.

Actress Maya Karin, during a visit to Kota Baru on Tuesday, supported the revival of the cinema or cineplex industry in the state, saying that it could boost the local film scene.

State Education Committee chairman Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said that the state had not banned cinemas or cineplexes but that they died a “natural death” due to the advent of VCDs, DVDs and the Internet.

Husam said the approach to invite local celebrities such as Mawi and Maya Karin was to bring about a positive effect to an Islamic form of entertainment.

“We must bring stars such as Mawi or Maya as they can woo the public on advocating an Islamic form of entertainment which dwells more on strong morals, spiritual and human qualities rather than the current crop of commercialised movies which border on excessive sex and violence.”

Husam said he was delighted to see Maya donning a headscarf and was polite during her brief visit here.

At another function, Husam said he welcomed the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) to investigate corruption and abuse of power claims made against him.

What a shame to the world

Last weekend there is BERSIH Rally happen at Dataran Merdeka, and it get attention i believe around the world




This is a comment from our minister of communication which i find it very rude. And i think he don't understand English. Because what ever he answer is not the answer that the anchor looking for. Anyway i think he is accusing the AlJazeera network.

The way he said it and how he express it out totally will make other ppl around the work laughing at us. I think before they make any comment in English, they have to "brush" up their English. What a shame "ministry of communication" cant speak and understand English. that is so PATHETIC.

I think this is why the Gov would like to re-consider implementation English in Math and Science. Is not that i not proud to Malaysian but sometime the opinion that the gov give is not making any sense.

Even learning in University is in Malay, the question is how do you want to compete with University around the world? and when this graduate going into the working life... they know "NUT" .A lot of term is in English and when you're working, you will be using English as a communication language. If the student brought up in Malays term how do they compete with other Graduate's ???

Is different is you think you going to Gov sector. But trust me you will not survive in Private Sector.Yes Bahasa Malaysia is our National Language i don't deny it but for us to compete in the world i don't think we can go far with it... Think about it.


P/S :A lot of thing have change ever since Tun step down. I think you all know what I'm talking about.

Pretender

The world we living now.. there is a lot of pretender, among our friends i would say it.

Sometime i wondering why life need to be so difficult. If you can't accept someone as a friend or they did something to you that you dislike why can't just you tell it off?

I really hate this "pretender" they just pain in the ass. regardless male or female. They will just tell you, " no you did nothing wrong, it's just me " but the next day you know , they will said " i cant take it anymore " today they tell u to to forget about it, the next day they tell you they cant take it anymore.. why so hard???

sometime i don't understand why they love to "please" ppl then at the end they will hurt you again.. you are a JERK

anyway i'm back to normal state which few month back i have some "emotion" problem...not period of cause , hahahahaha..... i think sometime is worthless to let the memory remain as i said it's "WORTHLESS" they just a burden that u have to carry with nothing can be made out of it. so just let throw it away and don't think about it.

Pekerja perlu dibayar gaji setimpal

i have come a cross this article when reading Utusan malaysia this is what is what our PM said

Like my 1st experience ( company located at mount kiara ) .. now i understand why my parent told me not to work in chinese managing company ( So called china company )
I been 2 company before i join my current job. Every month they will pay on the 7th... If you lucky then they will pay you early but if you're not they wil delay it till 14th.

still remember when i ask the payroll " why our salary every month so slow" this is their reply
" because the customer didn't pay us "
Sometime i wondering..what the hell got to do with us when the customer didn't the company money as that got nothing to do with us. we deliver our service and work done properly that is the company problem. Company location damn nice but company no money. bos every month go china and drive BMW... WTF

and the 2nd company i when to is at cheras, This particular company they "love" to call for meeting after office hour and the meeting is regarding work issue. and they will start the meeting about 8-9PM and drag to 12-1 AM

Just don't understand as the meeting is regarding working issue why they doing it after office hour...shouldn't it be done during office hour ??? or maybe monthly meeting during sat still acceptable

The management always love to said " if you got anything in mind or dislike, feel free to talk to us" but when u open the mouth they will "anti" you....

Even monthly claim they will come up to you and ask "why your claim so much"

No matter how good you perform and give to the company they will never acknowledged you.
they love you to polish their shoe and just keep quite.

P/S : i didn't say all chinese bosses is like that but to those are like that they like to "squeeze" their employee. Paying you this amount 4 Figure but expect you to do 5 figure job roll.

Gosh... this month is totally screw up.. don't know what happen to the company but the salary is getting slower..till today 29th no salary.... sometimes wondering why can't they standardize the date.

Even if they going to pay us late, at least send out email then ppl we will know how to manage.
Don't understand this ppl sometime why so hard.....

2 more days going to be public holiday at least got salary can go shopping... but... dont think so..

Yesterday i did commented on the chinese people about their attitude on you tube, and as i expected it going to be hot topic. and i get few people reply on it. As i believe they are chinese too.
anyway i think this people do not understand what i trying to say and what is the hidden meaning of my comment

1st of all i never said that "ALL" chinese are like that. what i saying is those "typical" chinese, that have 1 kind of mentality.
2nd inside my comment i also never mentioned that all those malays in the video is good guy and chinese is bad guy.

This video taken from a Chinese guy, which the incident took place at 6.30PM, July 17, 2006 UPM. If i not mistaken this topic was "hot" during that time. as you can see even the title it self is already that hot "50 UPM Malay students bully Chinese students"

If you guys looking at the video, and please take note at 0.54 min and listen carefully to what the MPP explaining. Most of my friend is Malays, they appreciate friend better then this Chinese people do. Chinese people is much more bossy, i don't know why but i think they have this thinking which they are much more better then other races. Chinese people cannot eat with hand, i experience it my self when i was in UNI. this Chinese people as usual will eat with their own people ( normally u will see it at 1 end and all of them Chinese ) they do not have fork and spoon. they die die also will look for it and rather wait for other people to finish eating and wash the spoon and eat the damn rice.

my family and i all used hand to eat most of the time. and we still alive...

1) They move in hertz

7) they are not friendly
